Cindy Olvera, MEd, LPC-Associate
Supervised by Dr. Gregory Scott Sparrow, EdD, LPC-S

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Bachelor’s in Psychology. My passion for this work came from my own personal healing journey. Learning how to navigate trauma, anxiety, and self-worth challenges helped me understand the power of being truly seen and supported. That experience shaped my commitment to helping others feel safe, understood, and empowered in their own healing process. I approach therapy through a relational and client centered lens, creating a warm space where growth can happen through trust, reflection, and evidence based care.

Clinically, I specialize in trauma, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I am trained in EMDR, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients face difficult emotions and take value-driven steps, use Polyvagal Theory to support nervous system regulation, and draw from the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) when working with couples

My approach is thoughtful and collaborative. I honor your lived experience while helping you explore patterns, shift internal narratives, and build emotional resilience. Whether you're working through trauma or seeking deeper connection in your relationship, I walk alongside you with care, compassion, and the belief that meaningful healing is always possible.
